A DREAM BECOMES REALITY – The history of  Guru Arjan Dev Mission Hospital

Many men harbour a visionary dream, but few are fortunate enough to bring this to fruition in their lifetime. Mohan Singh Mann had a vision to provide good medical facilities, services and treatment to the poor and needy people in our local communities in Banga. And with great resilience, perseverance and the blessings of Waheguru ji he managed to transform that vision into reality. He shared his vision with his family, friends and the local community and created the Guru Arjan Dev Mission Hospital Trust for this purpose. He then embarked upon a tireless campaign of fundraising including securing   three Kanal’s area of land for the Hospital, which was gifted to the Trust by the great philanthropist, Sardar Harjinder Singh Sandhu together with a generous donation of 5 Lakh Rupees. 

Mohan Singh Mann led by example and donated 5 Lakh to this worthwhile cause. Other notable funders included Kamaljit Singh Mann (Son of Pritam Singh Mann) 3 Lakh, Bhakhtawar Singh Bains (1 Lakh, 40 thousand. Sajjan Singh Mann, Pyush panday Jaipur , Joginder Singh Sandhu, Gurdev Singh Mann and Nirmal Singh Mann all of whom contributed 1 Lakh Rupees each. Other notable funders included Ajit Singh Rai, Jasvir Singh  and Malkit Singh Mann. Principal Sita Ram Lal and Family, Amrik Singh Mann, Manjit Singh Salhan and Jagjit Singh Sodhi.

Our brothers and sisters living abroad also gave generously, The Sangat in the Philippines collected a staggering 5 Lakh Rupees which were submitted via Jagjit Singh Sodhi. The Sangat in America similarly supported this noble cause with over 1 Lakh in donations. This enabled Mohan Singh Mann to start the construction of the Hospital which began on 8^th March 2003 with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by our main benefactor Sardar Harjinder Singh Sandhu with supporters and well-wishers in attendance.

ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ

ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਖੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ. ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਬੰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ, ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਲਚਕੀਲੇਪਣ, ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ, ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੰਤਵ ਲਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਈ ਤਿੰਨ ਕਨਾਲ ਰਕਬੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਫੰਡ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਣਥੱਕ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਨ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਨੂੰ 5 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। 

ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ 5 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ। ਕਮਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ (ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ) 3 ਲੱਖ, ਭਖਤਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੈਂਸ (1 ਲੱਖ, 40 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ) ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਸੱਜਣ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ, ਪਿਯੂਸ਼ ਪਾਂਡੇ ਜੈਪੁਰ, ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ, ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ 1-1 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਏ, ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਕੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸੀਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਲਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ, ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ, ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਲਹਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਢੀ।

ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਭੈਣਾਂ-ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੇ 5 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੋ ਜਗਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਢੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਮ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ 1 ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੇਕ ਕਾਰਜ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ 8 ਮਾਰਚ 2003 ਨੂੰ ਰਿਬਨ ਕੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਰਸਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਾਨੀ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭਚਿੰਤਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
