Introducing Gurwinder Singh – Superintendant Guru Arjan Dev Mission Hospital

Recently I had the opportunity to meet Sardar Gurwinder Singh Ji, the respected Superintendent of Guru Arjan Dev Mission Hospital. He introduced himself, gave me valuable information regarding the important charitable work of the hospital, introduced me to some of the staff and gave me a tour of the hospital for which I am very thankful.

Gurwinder Ji was born and grew up in the small village of Khadak Khurd which lies between Banga and Heon. He was educated in the Government High School in Banga and went on to complete his B.A  in Arts and Economics at the prestigious Sikh National College in Banga. He has been working for the Hospital ever since it was built in 2005 which represents over 20 Years of conscientious and dedicated service which I am sure we all greatly applaud and congratulate him for.

The Hospital is governed by a Management Committee comprising of the following members

Staff members include , Dr Satwant Singh Pabla ( M.B.B. S ) Dr Riya ( B.A.M.S) , Dr Navneet Kanwal, Dr Maninder Kaur and Dr Sakshi.  The Hospital offers all the basic services to the poor and needy people at free or generously subsidised and reduced rates. And includes a Medical Laboratory, X-Ray Department, Orthopeadics ,Dentisty , Physiotherapy and Pharmacy.

Her are some examples of the services on offer.

1. With a fee of just 10 rupees for the prescription 2 days  worth of free medicines are offered.
2. On the 24th of every month between 9am and 1pm a free testing camp is conducted in which patients can be tested for Diabetes, Blood Pressure and other ailments. This is in the loving memory of Vivek.
3. On the 2^nd of every month from 9am to 1pm another free camp is offered In the loving memory of Suman in which free tests for Blood Urea, Uric Acid and Cretinine are conducted.
4. E.C.G scans are offered for just 90 rupees.
5. Medicines are offered for  between 10 to 30% reduced rates.
6. Dental Treatment is given at a fraction of the cost of privately available treatment.
7. An Osteopathic  Physician ( Eye Doctor ) Dr Sethi visits on Saturday and Sunday for 2 hours each day to offer  free eye consultations. An annual camp is held each year where free eye treatment and laser surgery is offered.
8. Dressings for wounds are done for free.

All these charitable services are made possible by the hard working and dedicated members of staff and the generous contributions of funds from well wishers and supporters of the hospital like yourselves. ਹੁਣੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਆਦਰਯੋਗ ਸੁਪਰਡੈਂਟ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ, ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਕੁਝ ਸਟਾਫ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਹਾਂ ।

ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ  ਖੜਕ ਖੁਰਦ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਜੋ ਬੰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੀਓਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੰਗਾ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਗਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਕਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਤੋਂ ਆਰਟਸ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਏ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ 2005 ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ  ਹਨ ਜੋ 20 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

ਹੋਸਪਿਟਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ

ਸਟਾਫ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ ਸਤਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਾਬਲਾ (ਐਮ.ਬੀ.ਬੀ.ਐਸ.), ਡਾ ਰਿਆ (ਬੀ.ਏ.ਐਮ.ਐਸ), ਡਾ ਨਵਨੀਤ ਕੰਵਲ , ਡਾ ਮਨਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।  ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਗਰੀਬ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਫਤ ਜਾਂ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਬਸਿਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਘੱਟ ਦਰਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਾਲਾ, ਐਕਸ-ਰੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਆਰਥੋਪੈਡਿਕਸ , ਡੈਂਟਿਸਟੀ , ਫਿਜ਼ੀਓਥੈਰੇਪੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਾਰਮੇਸੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।

ਉਹ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ‘ਤੇ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਉਦਾਹਰਣਾਂ ਹਨ।

1. ਪਰਚੀ ਲਈ ਸਿਰਫ 10 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਫੀਸ ਨਾਲ 2 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਫਤ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
2. ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ 24 ਤਰੀਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 9 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 1 ਵਜੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਫਤ ਟੈਸਟਿੰਗ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੂਗਰ, ਬਲੱਡ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ਼ਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਟੈਸਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਭਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
3. ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ 2 ਤਰੀਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 9 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 1 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਸੁਮਨ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਭਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਮੁਫਤ ਕੈਂਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਲੱਡ ਯੂਰੀਆ, ਯੂਰਿਕ ਐਸਿਡ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੇਟੀਨਾਈਨ ਲਈ ਮੁਫਤ ਟੈਸਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
4. ਈ.ਸੀ.ਜੀ. ਸਕੈਨ ਸਿਰਫ ੯੦ ਰੁਪਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
5. ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ 10 ਤੋਂ 30٪ ਘੱਟ ਦਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
6. ਦੰਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਇਲਾਜ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸੇ ‘ਤੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
7. ਇੱਕ ਓਸਟੀਓਪੈਥਿਕ ਡਾਕਟਰ (ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਡਾਕਟਰ) ਡਾ. ਸੇਠੀ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ 2 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਲਾਹ-ਮਸ਼ਵਰੇ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਜ਼ਰ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ.
8. ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੱਟੀ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
